Mondial de l'Auto 2022: an innovative event
In 2022, the Mondial de l’Auto was undergoing a revolution! For the show’s big comeback, innovation and new technologies were the focus of this week’s motor show.
The 89th Mondial de l’Auto provided an opportunity to rethink the format of the event. Refocused exclusively on the automobile, the show was scheduled to take place over 7 days, from Monday 17 to Sunday 23 October 2022, at the Parc des Expositions at Paris Porte de Versailles, for even more conviviality and exchanges between enthusiasts.
Mondial de l’Auto 2022: presenting the technologies of the future to the general public
Since its launch in 1898, the Mondial Paris Motor Show has been the premier showcase for the research and technical advances of an entire industry at the forefront of progress. Visitors to the Paris Motor Show come to discover new engines, new models, new technologies and new fuels. At the very first show, combustion-powered cars rubbed shoulders with electric cars, the fruit of innovations by automotive pioneers.
At the Mondial de l’Auto 2022, nothing really changed. Petrol-powered cars shared the limelight with the new electric cars and hydrogen concept cars. The 2022 edition of the show was marked by the revelation of brand new brands such as BYD, with its premium and technological electric cars, Ora with its stylish electric city cars, NamX with its hydrogen SUV project designed by Pininfarina, and Microlino, the manufacturer of electric microcars with a resolutely 50s style.
Concept cars and a new automotive vision at the 2022 Mondial de l’Auto
This year, 2022, there were plenty of concept cars. One of the starters at the Mondial de l’Auto 2022 was the Alpine Alpenglow, a hydrogen concept paving the way for sustainable motorsport and responsible driving. The Renault 4ever Trophy E-Tech, the R5 E-Tech prototype, the R5 Turbo 3E E-Tech and Scenic Vision H2-Tech, the Hopium Machina Vision, the Dacia Manifesto and the Next Ora Cat were also on show.
Other models were also highlighted. Dacia’s recently launched new visual identity was on stage, as were the stunning Alpine A110 E-ternity, the new Kangoo E-Tech, the new Peugeot 408, the e-308 and the Vinfast VF 6 and VF 7.
On the exhibitor side, the automotive universe has been fleshed out with financing services such as Crédit Agricole Consumer Finance and BNP Paribas, but also car service providers such as ENGIE and BYmyCAR, or companies producing entertainment and simulation equipment, such as Netflix and Thrustmaster.
The Mondial de l’Auto 2022 was also a supercar exhibition for a good cause
16 is the huge number of Ferraris loaned by a collector for the exceptional exhibition at the Mondial de l’Auto 2022. Spread over a stand of more than 1,000 square metres, the « Exceptional Cars » area was designed to raise funds for the Perce Neige Foundation, while at the same time inspiring the public to dream. The Mondial de l’Auto, in partnership with Sport Auto magazine, brought together some of the rarest recent Ferrari models, including the Ferrari 458 Aperta, the La Ferrari and the spectacular Ferrari Monza SP2.
The Mondial de l’Auto 2022 was a resounding success. As a showcase for technological developments, the show brought visitors into the new automotive century. In 2024, the Mondial de l’Auto is inviting all the car enthusiasts to take part in a real celebration of the automobile. See you from Monday 14 to Sunday 20 October 2024 in Paris.
